Now, of course, if you’re just using the Giphy integration because you like the inappropriate humor that can often come out of it (or if your startup is too small to have an HR department yet), then by all means: /giphy away! But if you miss your GIFs because that integration just wasn’t working for your team, get giffing with RightGIF now. I put in a bunch of different phrases that I could see myself using on a work Slack channel and was very pleasantly satisfied with the results. You can even give it a shot on their website, where they let you type in a word or a phrase and then pull up a GIF for you. RightGIF is! They’ve worked out a search algorithm that brings up GIFs (a lot of them from Giphy) that actually communicate what you want to say and won’t get you fired. But their crowdsourced tagging means that they’re just not set up for randomly picking out a GIF for work. Now, I’m not a Giphy hater by any means - I use their site all the time to enhance articles that could use a little movement and humor. On our work channels, we’ve abandoned GIFs altogether, because the only humor we were getting out of them was laughs over how terrible they were. Like, you end up sending out GIFs that will, best case scenario, confuse and, worst case scenario, get you fired. Weve confirmed this issue is now resolved. However, one of the initial things that I loved about Slack - the GIF integration with Giphy - sucks. They’ve hands-down won the team management wars with their ridiculously rapid growth and super easy integration. If your startup/company/team of you and your best friend isn’t on Slack yet, you will be soon. We don't get to wait long.RightGIF is an easy Slack integration that serves up better GIFs. And so we'll hear more from the company tomorrow. And so it'll be interesting to see where that strategic play continues to come forward in this changeover. They've been talking about that the CFO, Andrew Subramanian, has kind of pounded the pavement on that. Outages are a common problem with cloud-based software solutions but that doesn’t make them any less frustrating. It's still going to come in an era of strong financial discipline here too. So all of that considered for Lidiane and the kind of metrics that they're going to continue to watch with the strategic priorities they've set forth as well. But looking across some of the total paying users and the growth that they've seen there, that's sitting at about 3.6 million over this most recent quarter that ended in June 2023. So we're actually going to get an update on all of these figures anyway. You think about the average revenue per active user or paying user that is on the site right now, that sits at about, what, 2.4 million, I believe, or excuse me, 2.4 billion is what they brought in the most recent- excuse me, 2.4 million, where they're seeing ultimately over the past kind of three months.Īnd this is basically just coming ahead of the earnings report. And that growth is going to come on a few major metrics here. And then, of course, the question is, what this means for the company, as they put it, the company's next chapter of growth here for Bumble.īRAD SMITH: Yeah, absolutely. So a bit of a surprise move here in terms of her already leaving Slack. I am so pleased to have found Lidiane.Īnd so when you take- Bumble shares have been down about 45% over the past year, Lidiane was the CEO of Slack owned by Salesforce and just took up that position not too long ago. When you take into account where it is positioned today, I thought hard about what type of leader could ultimately step into the CEO role as a successor and help continue taking Bumble to even greater heights. She will remain on as executive chair, so that should help alleviate some of the fears out there from investors.īut Whitney Wolfe Herd saying in this statement that she believes Bumble is significant potential more than ever before. They certainly have been welcomed here by investors when you take into account that Wolfe Herd founded Bumble nearly a decade ago. Later, the workplace messaging app wrote on it s status page,' Slack is now back up. You talk about how significant this is to the company, we know Bumble has been very successful in terms of separating, differentiating itself from the other dating apps that are out there. Slack being down is the best thing to happen to me this week,' wrote one user.
